ARTIST BIO

XERSA is an Internationally exhibited, practising artist with over 20 solo and 36 group exhibitions. Including Affirmation Arts, Exit Arts and Cipriani Wall Street in New York City; Menier Gallery in London; Touring through Peidmont Italy; Logan Art Gallery and Gallery Nona in Brisbane; Art Gallery of NSW and S H Ervine Gallery in Sydney; Linden Arts, Blackwood Street Gallery and Dianne Tanzer Gallery in Melbourne; National Wool Museum Geelong; Art Gallery of Ballarat.

 

 

 

Studies BIAE Fine Art, RMIT Industrial design and Fine Art, Masterclasses and workshops at National Gallery of Victoria, Art Gallery of Ballarat, Research and drawing workshops at the Drawing Room London, London Drawing group, National Portrait Gallery in London. Research at major galleries and Museums in Paris, London, Scandinavia and Singapore.

 

 

 

Awards include being a Dobell Prize finalist and selected for the S H Ervine gallery Salon Des Refuses, a Commonwealth Government Scholorship recipient and awarded for excellence in art at Daylesford Technical High school and many prizes obtained at the Castlemaine art gallery students awards, Dandenong arts festivals, Ballarat and Daylesford regional shows.

 

 

 

Collections include Australian Federal court, Paintings in Hospitals organization London, The Drawing Room Library London, New York University Fales Library, Living Care New South Wales, Ballarat Health Lucas community Health Centre, Ballarat Regional Integrated Cancer Centre, Ballarat Returned Services League, City of Melbourne 2010 collaborative project, Viterra subsiduary of Glencore and private collections in New York, Italy, Singapore, Japan,

 

 

 

Residencies Fitzroy Secondary College, Broadmeadows High, International Oki Do Yoga, Italy and in Melbourne, and the Eltham Festival.

 

 

 

Commissions and Collaborations Ballarat Health, City of Ballarat Leaving For The Front, City of Melbourne North West Melbourne 2010 project, Lemax Group Pty Ltd, Liberty Casings Pty Ltd, Private commissions for murals in homes and Restaurants, Collaborated with Takao Nakazawa for sets and lighting for MOMO theatre in the Santarcangelo Italy theatre Festival and in Melbourne and Japan, collaborated with my sister Barbara Limb for her MY HIRSTORIA exhibition at Gallery Nona in Brisbane

 

 

 

Work experience Founder and Manager of XERSA DESIGNS from 1978 to 1993 providing designs and technical platemaking for the Textiles industry with a nation wide clientelle including Prue Acton OBE, Watersun, Maglia, Palm Beach, Sunseeker, Charles Parsons, Australian Textile Printing, Courtier Products distributing Internationally.

 

 

 

Curator of SISTERS AS ARTISTS at Logan Art gallery, SEVENSUNSSEVENMOONS at Fortyfive Downstairs Gallery, Exhibitions of the STATE CRAFT COLLECTION at the Meat Market Craft Centre and as well as some of my own solo exhibitions.

 

 

 

Volunteer at Heide Art Gallery assisting with set up and take down of WOMEN SURREALISTS and at the Meat Market Craft Centre assisting with displays.
