ARTIST BIO

Tory studied Art and Design at Melbourne School of Art under Robert Gill, 1992-1995.  She has a passion for art and the aesthetic.  She loves Australia, especially its native flora and fauna, and has therefore also studied Horticulture.

\r\n

She is an Australian artist with a love of colour and pattern.  Inspired by Australian ceramics she includes them in her mixed media work.  On finding a plate or vase, Tory will create a still life painting or subject encorporating the design into her work.

\r\n

Ceramics are attached to the linen. The three dimensional work makes you take a second look to discern where the ceramic ends and the painting begins. Her use of “Johnson of Australia” plates are truly original and ingenious.
